ADHD Teen Coaching is designed to assist teenagers from 13 to 17 with ADHD become successful and independent individuals. The ADHD mind is different to the neuro-typical individual thus requiring a different approach to, well everything.
The Catharsis Society has developed 2 ADHD Coaching and Education programs for teens to help them reach their potential in school, their social life, succeed as they enter the workforce and even help them around the house.
The way young men and women think and feel is undoubtably different and this doesn't change when you have ADHD. Therefor, It made sense to develop two programs that target Boys and Girls separately.
Each adhd program is delivered 100% online rather than in our Nowra office. So if your in Wollongong or even Sydney, you don't have to miss out. The programs are between the Coach and a maximum of 8 teens. This allows a more person centred approach to Coaching which gives the Coach a closer insight into each participant and their needs. This also gives flexibility to adjust the direction of the program if needed.
The aim is to present this program through a variety of ways eg; through short videos, written material, visual presentations and direct communication with the coach. We don't want anyone to get distracted so we try and keep it interesting.
The programs are 9 weeks long delivered online 1 evening a week giving the participants more than 13 hours of coaching and education. With each participant having a maximum of 7 peers, no one will get lost at the back of the class.
Note: Participants are required to have a notebook and pen and the ability to print a small amount of worksheets in black and white. Worksheets can be worked on digitally although some of you may prefer paper.
Our unique program is broken up into 4 modules. Have knowledge of each is fundamental too thriving with ADHD and not just surviving. The modules are...
This module which focuses on educating the participants with up to date information about ADHD. How and why their brain is so different.
Within ADHD circles people often call it an Executive Function Disorder. We will discover what these are and help participants discover their strengths and weaknesses.
If only there was a simple phone app or secret system that we could share with you to resolve this issue. Unfortunately not, however, we can share with you some systems that do work for people with ADHD. The coach will also ask each participant to give detail of their schedule and will develop this module to suit.
Our self esteem is a big contributor to our behaviour towards others and ourselves. When you have adhd, achieving good self esteem can sometimes be a lot harder. What influences your self esteem and why? How do I strengthen my self worth when I think so differently to everyone else? We address these questions and offer wisdom on how to tackle low self esteem.
